My Sweet Sixteen – Song Choices (Thank the Mighty God Named Pandora) [Part 1]

These are some of the Songs that I have chosen out of, literally, hundreds; they are the songs that I feel most accurately portray the mood of the story at certain times. What of Whom the song speaks for can vary. It can be what a certain character is feeling after or during an event, or what one person feels towards another. It can also simply just fit the moment best. For example, When Tame, the main character from My Sweet Sixteen (I finally decided on her name! – this IS final.) plays the piano for her father, she plays the song Claire De Lune, and a series of scenes are shown, mostly consisting of nature scenery.

Anyway, here are the songs, and I would really appreciate it if everyone would go through and listen to these songs. If you can’t understand what the artist is saying, look up the lyrics and follow along. Almost all of them can be found on YouTube, or online elsewhere. If you have trouble finding a version with good quality, or have difficulty locating a version at all, comment and I will leave a link in reply.

If there is an asterisk ( * ) next to the song, it means I have a specific vision, or ‘music video’ made up of a series of clips that tells a story as the music plays. It’s in sync, and the lyrics are relevant. PLEASE NOTE – because I am a horrible author and updater, (and fail to do so even when I say I will more often…) I will create a PART 2 with all the songs marked with an asterisk, telling what exactly is happening during the song.

Please comment if you have any questions, or if you’ve got a good song you think I should listen to in regards to any sort of situation or controversy in the story. (For example, Suss, a song that explains the relationship of Paece and Hoth might be ‘I LOVE YOU – BUT ONLY WHEN NO ONE CAN SEE US’ whereas a song expressing Mac and Charlie might be….. ‘EXCUSE ME WHILE I SLIDE MY HAND DOWN YOUR PANTS WHILE THE SMALL CHILDREN WATCH’…..if you…know what I mean XD. Anyway, enjoy, and as always, I PROMISE TO UPDATE MORE – and I’ll try harder this time around… = __ =

From Here on Out

So, the end of the school year is approaching, and I know I haven’t updated like I said I would….> . <
But, I'm going to make sure I whip myself into shape, and do ALL MY WRITING.
I'm planning to work mainly on My Sweet Sixteen; song themes, song fics, spin-offs, monologues, chapter-by-chapter updates (hopefully), and maybe even some 'behind the scenes' crack for laughs.
I will be attending summer camp for 3 weeks, and during that time I will not have access to any computer, phone or the interent at all. However, I will bring my notebooks and my pencils as well as my dirty mind, and every night I'll write some juicy scenes that I will enjoy typing up later when I return home. I might actually try to have my laptop during the ride home so I can type things up and get a head start.
I'm hoping to really try and develop a good portion of the My Sweet Sixteen series, because a certain someone really wants me to write about it…
I've also developed a new story…I understand nothing. It's super trippy though, and i feel like everyone in the show is on crack- and GET THIS! NO GAY COUPLES!!!! (wow, that's a huge break through!)
I hope that everyone continues to check the site once and a while during the summer, and puts up a comment when they do, letting me know how their summer is going.
(I will post the dates of my camp session later)

S16 – Into the Sails and Sheets

My favorite color had always been white. It seemed calm, but still managed to draw wandering eyes of strangers who passed by on the cross walks. The stripes to cross walks were also white. They showed awareness, and protection. But white is also a very plain and vulnerable color. It keeps hold of things that splash and rake across it, like jelly, and paint, and stray bits of kelly green Playdough. I think that’s why my dad never got me any of the white clothes that I would ask for. We would leave the store with the same shirt in musty yellows or blinding pinks. White could also be blinding, if it was sunny outside.

That was why my eyes moved on their own, to that boy walking towards me.

He was staring back at me too, but I didn’t know why.

I felt a tugging in my gut, like I was being dragged by something, but not in any direction that I could make out.

I didn’t blink; or at least I resisted against the twitching of my eyelid, only the have my mouth peel open in awe instead. The light flickered black and white, and then black again, then back to white. Was I going to faint? No. Was I going to stop staring? No.

I realized I was almost half way across the street. My legs had been moving save my thoughts. Thank you legs, for having a mind absent from the mush that subsided in my skull. Maybe you can help me with my math homework…

‘What was I doing again? Oh yeah, that guy, where’d he go?’

My eyes had glazed during my semi-conscious dwelling, and refocusing sent a sharp pain to my head, above my eyebrows.

The boy was gone, and all that remained was the few other people I had left the curb with, and the cracked sidewalk I was approaching. I guess he had passed me.

Stepping up onto the curb I was determined not to look back; for some reason I felt he was looking for just that kind of unexplainable satisfaction. Something someone does that makes you unconsciously want to smirk. For me, it’s the feeling of knowing someone has fallen for a trap that was perfectly planned; you were just waiting for the first victim.

Stepping up off the asphalt but not out of harms way, I held my head a little higher, and my strides became slightly steadier.

Was he my age? Was he with someone else?

I didn’t remember if he was with anyone…his family, a friend, a girlfriend…meh. It didn’t really matter anyway, I would probably only stay here for 6 months, no more than a year and a half. Making friends would be easy but dealing with leaving would be the opposite. I don’t know if I wanted to deal with that.

The longest I had been somewhere for one stay would probably have to be in South America; either Chile or Brazil. One of the architects my dad was working with had a her kid with her, and I guess we became friends. We had kept in touch after I left, mainly through postcards. But they weren’t real postcards, they were actually just pictures we had taken (usually of a site our parent was rigorously uncovering) with a sentence or joke scribbled on the back.

But whatever. I only stayed for 16 months, and we never actually unpacked, but it’s not like we ever do. I don’t mean that in a bitter way, it’s just how things are. If I unpack too much, I’m bound to forget where I put something, and then end up loosing it. Either that, or I fool myself into thinking there’s room in my suitcase for more. When it’s time to pack, I realize there isn’t room.

When it doesn’t fit, I don’t try to stuff it in, so I just leave it instead.

That’s how I am. There’s no room inside myself to fit others. I’m not really interested in other people, and if I only know them for months I don’t see the point of even trying to make friends. I can preoccupy myself with other things, like I always have, and this stay won’t be anything different.

I climbed the concrete stairs to our average apartment that we have been provided with during the duration of my dads’ assignment. Searching my pocket for the key, I shifted the bag of groceries that was getting heavier and heavier.

Nothing special, just another couple of months, in a different apartment, with a different bed to sleep in, and a different school with boring, tacky, tile patterns.

Jiggling handle, the door pushed open, and I made my way inside the complex, and began my accent to the 7th floor.

There are plenty of different people just like always, but different does not mean interesting.

And if something is not interesting, you just leave it be. Just leave it be.

My Sweet Sixteen – Character and Story Plan

Plot – The story takes place in florida, and hour outside of Orlando. The scenery consists of Fields; field after field after field. they are all slightly different colors, green, brown, gold, yellow, sometimes tinted blue, pink, purple or orange in some places from flowers. In the story, there is less flora on the roadsides {which are gravel, I might add} then there actually is in this area {Yes, this is a real place, and I have been there. It’s one of the most beautiful spots I’ve even been too. I have also been to a similar place In North Carolina, were there are fields with wheat and grass {occasionally crops} for miles and miles. There are random large bushels, in some fields, or small forests, or groups of huge trees, but these are not included in this story. At the site in florida, there is a large salt-water lake, that has winding canoe paths {in the water, of course}  I combined the two places, so there isn’t one single location it’s based off of, but there are two places that are, for the most part, very similar.

The main character; an only child, lives alone with her father, who is a journalist and photographer. She has always been home-schooled, because her father thought that seeing and experiencing the world at a young age, was important, and so, when she was almost 4, her father took her around the world. Aside from visiting many places on the continents, she had been to obscure islands, abandoned areas, deserts, and had even lived at sea for 6 months. Of course she had seen the Great Wall of China, been to Egypt to see the Great Pyramid of Giza, The Colosseum as well as many other ruins and preserved sites in Rome, Hagia Sophia located in Turkey , and had sat not far from Stonehenge, sketching, and painting it for hours. She  had been to india to see The Taj Mahal, to the San-Fransisco Bay and walked across The Golden Gate Bridge, as well as scooba-dived along the Great Barrier Reef, hiked in the grand canyon multiple times, seen the Northern lights, and even Machu Picchu. As I said earlier, she had been homeschooled, because it was required that she ‘go to school’, and the only way she could be conveniently educated was for her father to teach her. It wasn’t textbooks and essays though, it was mostly this; “Okay, you’re in 6th grade now, which means there’s math, english, science, language, arts, and PE or health.”  Ask her father speaks, he counts on his fingers. “You’ve done a great job with learning english, you know, it being your first language in all, so all you have to do is read and write. You’re old enough to brief yourself on the sites were going to visit, so that can be your reading. A book involving it somehow, like, the story takes place there, or its a conspiracy about it, or maybe just a fun-fact book about the region, with information about lots of things.” he paused, licking his lips. “For writing, we can get a diary or notebook that you like, and you can write a little before and after about the site or trip, or whatever we do. Math is pretty boring but it’s helpful, so only learn the stuff that you’ll actually use in real life. ummmmmm…language I don’t think will be a problem, you’ve probably correctly spoken in at least 40 different languages. You like to draw, so I’ll just buy you more sketchbooks, and all the walking and hiking and running we do make up for the time we spend sitting while we’re traveling. So basically, you’re all good!”

Her father then decided that going to high school and that making friends, and keeping them for more than 2 weeks would be a good thing. And so, they bought a small house, outside of Orlando, Florida, and enrolled Cassie at the nearest school. There, Cassie slowly adjusts, makes friends, struggles a little at times, and realizes how strangely she was raised.

The actual plot during the story that I have imagined, is the idea of having 16 memories, the 16th being her 16th birthday, which she spends with her new friends. This does not necessarily mean there will be 16 episodes, (one episode for each memory). I might want to do random filler, or extra episodes, or maybe include the OVA in the actually series…..never-mind, that’s too weird.

Here are the character descriptions, which I might add, are over a year old…please forgive me, if I end up changing them slightly.

Cassie – F 15 (protagonist) (pronounced ca-C, NOT K-C)

Yellow and orange rain gear is typical, even when it’s not raining (jacket, sometimes a duckie – remember them from Outward Bound). Blue eyes that become greener closer to the center, with a black spot in the left one. Has a pilot license, and actually owns a small plane that fits 6 people. Also plays the piano.

Ray – M 46 (Cassie’s father)

In spirit, he’s younger than his age. The only thing he loves more than his porch and rocking chair is his daughter. Is a decent cook, but nothing american, in other words, it’s always something you would regularly have for dinner or breakfast in a different country. He enjoys listening to Cassie play the piano while sitting in his rocking chair.

Cammile – F 15 (Cassie’s best friend)

Her parents see her as a beautiful, innocent, and ladylike, but in reality, she transforms while at school into a goth, tomboy who despises pink, and enjoys shooting hoops during lunch period with the guys on the school team. Upholds amazing grades, and still has time to collect tea cups (partly supplied and encouraged by her parents) and learn detailed backgrounds on each one. She is an expert regarding Tea, and can recognize any scent, and identify which cup came from which company.

Tray – M 15 (Cammile’s friend, introduced to Cassie early in the series. He has half opened green eyes (his eyes are always only half way open), Wears a pink polo and cargo shorts that go down past his knees. Tan hair, a simple buzz cut doesn’t match his insane personality. Unbelievably HYPER. CAN NOT BE CONTROLLED OR CONTAINED.  PURE MADNESS.

Ryan – M 16 (Tray and Cammile’s friend)

A dark aura emits from Ryan, and people don’t understand how he can put up with Trays ADHD. Not the most amazing grades, but does have a passion for theatre, where his true personality seems to glow in many ways. (He can be who he really is, and say he’s acting – he doesn’t like showing his true emotions to others)

Phole – F 14 (Cassie and Ryan’s friend) (pronounced foe-lay) now that I’ve said it over and over it kind of sounds like the end of Chick-Fil-A, expect, FO-LAY

Doesn’t particularly like Tray. Snappy sometimes. Hates contact with other people of any sorts, and needs physical space between herself and others. Anger problems. Mistaken for a boy constantly. Randomly capitalizes Words in Sentances…it Gets Annoying sometimes…

SUSS – I WILL POST ALEX’S LATER – PLEASE DON’T KILL ME

so what do you think? leave a comment and tell me what you like, or what I should change!
